With an array of awards from around the Australian country music scene including the South Australian Senior Entertainer of the Year, there is one award that Tammy treasures in particular. The controversial and honest response to the iconic events of the World Trade Centre was awarded the Stan Coster Memorial Songwriting Award at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in January 2002. 'Impartiality' is about friends, family, dreams and the world. It is not a matter of religion or race but more an answer to our insecurities and the prospect of a brighter future. "When I write my songs it's pretty much like putting my heart on a silver platter and saying 'There you go, eat your heart out!'. It can be a scary thing to express your intimate feelings with the whole world, particularly when you are trying to send a message of hope and love because it's a lot more personal, so it is a great honour to receive this award and to share my stories with people."

Tammy took a four year break from her professional music career to be heavily involved as a senior executive with the South Australian Council for Country Music, undertaking roles such as Secretary/Grants Officer, Magazine Editor and Event Coordinator. This volunteer position was a substantial stepping stone for both Tammy and the Council and resulted in assisting Tammy's acceptance into the University of South Australia to study her Masters in Arts and Cultural Management.

A successful graduate of the CMAA Australian College of Country Music, held annually in Tamworth, Tammy recorded 'Pieces of You' with fellow college graduate and co-writer, Belinda Harkness. 'Pieces of You' is currently playing on many Country Music Radio Stations around Australia including Radio Adelaide, Coast FM and 2SM Country Music Radio with Nick Erby. Showcased with TIARA and international songwriting winners, our song was released on the 2006 SACCM Compilation CD through the South Australian Council for Country Music.

Tammy works very hard to achieve, further educate herself, and promote Country Music in South Australia. Her name is synonymous with hard work. Here is a young lady whose strength of character and dedication has developed her into the talented performer we see today.
